SYNOPSIS

Joo-hwan, an attorney, is happily married to Eun-hee and they have two kids. His new client Hae-soo is accused of excessive self-defense and attempted murder. She refuses counsel and shows signs of psychological disintegration. Joo-hwan successfully defends Hae-soo citing trauma from childhood sexual assault as the cause of her actions. Released from custody, Hae-woo becomes obsessed with Joo-hwan. Eun-hee, on the verge of losing her sight, asks him for a divorce but with the help of their kids, the two keep their marriage intact. Joo-hwan tries to help Eun-hee regain her full sight but tragedy strikes when Eun-hee and Hae-soo physically struggle on the veranda. Joo-hwan returns home to find Hae-soo dead on the ground. Joo-hwan holds Eun-hee, relieved that the nightmare has ended, but Eun-hee feels resentment building inside her.
