In the 1930s, Leonora Carrington breaks with the prevailing social norms and joins the surrealist movement. In Paris, she meets such artists as Salvador Dalí and André Breton. But it is her stormy love affair with painter Max Ernst that leads her on a journey of self-discovery. In Mexico, she finally achieves the freedom she’s sought and finds her own voice as an artist.
