Quelques siècles de plus (Few more centuries) is a short documentary that takes us behind the scenes of the process of restoring and preserving a film from the 1920s from its original release medium: a 35mm colour print. It＇s a journey through the key stages of this painstaking work, taking in some of cinema＇s most emblematic locations: from the air-conditioned casemates of the CNC in Bois-d＇Arcy, where the reels are carefully preserved, to the expert appraisal by the teams at the Cinémathèque française, to the mechanical and digital restoration at the Joinville-le-Pont laboratory.

It＇s a journey that＇s both technical and human, highlighting the skills of the craftsmen at work and the techniques that bring this heritage back to life. The process culminates in the creation of a 35mm print for theatrical release at the Cinémathèque française, while film conservation elements are transferred to the CNC＇s Bois-d＇Arcy site. Underlying all this is an essential question: what is the future for works that cannot be preserved on film?
