Jaume Claret Muxart is a director with the eye of an aesthete and a delicate hand. Here, Gal-la works in a radio station and the sound of music, her voice, and life is the thread that unites her with her son and a stranger who comes to bring ideas of shared melodies from the room they inhabit.

In a sound recording studio, an on-air announcer falls asleep to the sound of a Chopin symphony. From then on, the boundaries between dream and reality begin to blur. The eight-year-old son has to be put to sleep, but how can he if his mother falls asleep before him? A bedtime story is read and both colours and places fluctuate: spatial continuity is broken (the radio waves pass through the walls), languages are mixed (Catalan, French), musical genres change (electronic, classical, contemporary), false raccords impose a dreamlike uncertainty (the blues and reds of the jumpers) and figures are distorted into reflections. Sleep dominates (in)consciousness and it is the very instability of the image that contaminates the senses. Jaume Claret Muxart’s second film (IndieLisboa screened Ella i jo in 2021) emerges as a somewhat feverish delirium that ends up in the domestic space, and finally imposes itself as a solar commentary on the reconciliation of work and family.
