Misha never knew his grandfather, whose presence always cast a shadow over his family. The enigmatic man’s presence lingered in the objects he left behind: two cameras from the 1930s and a collection of old, random photographs from his life in a small Andean town. Though his grandmother does not recognize most of the people in the photos, this box of memories allows Misha to finally uncover well-kept secrets and understand the profound impact of silence, violence, and absence on the complicated relationship dynamics that repeat again and again through generations of his family.
