“We’re dark. We’re from Delhi. Yo!”

The amusing and current hip-hop comedy from non-Bollywood India with principal Nollywood actor Samuel Abiola Robinson wittily satirises colonialism, racism, demonisation of foreigners, arranged marriage, Hindu-Muslim feminism, social media influence and filmmaking in Dilliwood. Dibakar Das Roy switches between 1240 AD (when Delhi was still named Dilli) and 2023 AD to remind us of a forgotten part of history: the African rulers of India.

Adorable African outsider Michael Okeke left Nigeria six years ago to survive in the polluted, smelly, frequently disconnecting, and overcrowded New Delhi, which he despises heartily. He dreams of true love and a better job but follows only 4 C-s: cell phone, cocaine, cash, and clients. Michael reluctantly wanders the streets at night to sell white shit for rich customers＇ nose jobs. His so-called African package doesn＇t bear any fruits and a lack of confidence limits him to just a disposable Loverboy for the dominant beauty Maansi.

800 years ago the queen of Delhi, Razia Sultan found love in the embrace of dark-skinned foreigner Jamal-ud-Din Yaqut. Human rights issues and hatred are still like in the 13th century. The truth is that Indians are as dark as Nigerians. Life is extremely unfair, although somewhat fun for Michael, who witnesses what it is like to be famous in India. With some chilli and sweet black magic, he is the new role model of society.
