Gold miners, clandestine cemeteries, and stories of filibustering colonialism shape communities in Antofagasta, Atacama Desert, Chile. Filmmaker brings together fiction, reality, and documents of the filibuster trial that disrupted community relations in the ruins of the desert settlement. The filmmaker’s reconstruction of cross-generational subjects with their colonial masters, Spain, as well as the lessons of gold prospecting become a tactic to show the structures of colonialism that still need to be eroded.
