The story unfolds in the Jacques Prévert school in the Parisian outskirts, an establishment whose existence is threatened by the arrival of a swanky, eco-friendly hall of residence and its shiny, new school building. Worried about losing what little social diversity her school still has, headteacher Zahia joins forces with a young, socially engaged and newly qualified teacher called Marion to try to turn her stricken establishment into the first “green school” of the Parisian suburbs. But she will need the help of her rather motley school crew, who aren’t particularly interested in nature…
