This is the first feature documentary about the legendary Pantomime Marcel Marceau. He inspires several generations of artists and his family, who cast a new light on his life’s work. Maurizius Staerkle Drux focuses on the interaction between the dramatic life of the artist and his artistic expression. As a child, Marceau experiences the execution of his Jewish father by the nazis. A trauma that motivates him to join the French resistance and spurs his deep conviction in the art of silence. The film combines tragedy and comedy, music and silence and tells of the human condition, dreams and death.
