Eu Espero o Dia da Nossa Independência

In 2019, two Brazilian women passing through Algeria decide to record their impressions of the country based on ongoing protests in the capital city of Algiers. The documentary follows a crowd of people in the Harak mass movement as they take to the streets against the anti-democratic military government in power. Experiencing the reality of the Other, within a territory that has (formally) acquired its colonial independence just a few decades ago, becomes a way of understanding reality itself.
