White Road! is described as “a modern myth” and follows Aldar, a successful young rapper returning to his native Kalmykia, a republic in Southern Russia, to search for his mother in the endless steppe. Its people are related to nearby Mongolians and their spirits guided by Tibetan Buddhism. Aldar and his mother will go down a road that they did not have time to follow while she was still alive.
