There'll Always Be Stars in the Sky: The Indian Film Music Phenomenon

电影剧情
Imagine films with the scale of classic Hollywood Busby Berkeley musicals, the action of James Bond thrillers, and the epic style of spaghetti Westerns. Indian 'filmi' are this and more.
The Indian film industry is the new Hollywood, aka Bollywood, with 750 feature films a year, 100,000 viewers per week, and 600 movie magazines (c. early 1980s), with casts of thousands, orchestras of hundreds, astonishing soundtracks mixing classical music, folk music, Western pop, reggae and everything else under the sun.
'There'll Always Be Stars in the Sky' takes you behind the scenes of Bollywood to meet star actors (Raj Kapoor), star singers (Lata Mangeshkar), top musical directors (Kalyanji Anandji) and others in recording sessions, on shooting sets, in posh residences and in the teeming streets.
From the Beats of the Heart series, this episode features sections on roots of the film music style, forbidden pleasures of the city, popular music of India's poor, spontaneous composing in the studio, travelling cinemas in rural areas, religion and eroticism, a session with Lata Mangeshkar, leading stars in rehearsal, and an interview with Raj Kapoor.
