Based on a short story from the director’s “Homens pretos (não) choram”, this debut film by the Rio de Janeiro–based writer grapples with two pressing issues in contemporary masculinity: the frustration of lost love and the refusal to face one’s own violent behavior. Together, they reveal that as long as men fail to take responsibility for their relationships, whether or not they cry will be the least of their problems.
