Notas Sobre um Desterro

In the wake of the events of October 2023, filmmaker Gustavo Castro revisits footage he shot in the West Bank in 2018, using it as a gateway into the ongoing tragedy of a people ensnared in a historical cycle of destruction and displacement. Colonization, apartheid, genocide – none of these terms seem sufficient to fully capture the reality faced by Palestinians. Alongside this personal reflection, the film pieces together the historical processes that have led to the present moment, drawing on archival material while also incorporating the recent flood of war images created by the victims of this massacre themselves.
