Lan - O Caricaturista

The Italian boy Lanfranco Vaselli crossed the Atlantic in the late 1920s and became one of Latin America’s most influential caricaturists. Lan began his career in sports tabloids in Uruguay and Argentina and moved to Rio de Janeiro in 1952 as a political cartoonist during a critical moment in Brazil’s fragile republic. At 93, Lan no longer draws. Failing eyesight prevents him from crafting lines with the same precision as before. By the side of Olivia, his wife and loyal companion, he observes the passage of time, revisiting his memories.
