Yanru occasionally lives in a house in the countryside belonging to a stranger, she in turn lends her apartment to a friend, Nathan. Alone in the countryside, Yanru feels at home and invites another of her friends to join her. They talk about their lives and what it means for them to inhabiting in a place. Yanru tells her friend about the difficulties she encounters when writing.

Yanru finds herself on a bridge in Paris. She sees Nathan who gives her the key to her own apartment. He tells her that he finds her changed, that she gives him the impression of being a chameleon.
