Now that you're gone

After my mother’s disappearance and metaphorical death, I found freedom in the idle use of my time. But as a teenager and as a young adult left without guidance, carrying unacknowledged trauma, I was forced to navigate the world alone, falling into a cycle of damaging choices and situations.
