Waiting for Christmas in prison is like waiting for anything: interviews, meals, clean clothes, time outside. Inmates walk us through their conscience, where good and evil chase each other. In the nativity play, they dream of being angels. “Here dwells Justice,” they’re told. But without tenderness, humanity fades. Waiting begins again. The angel waits. A burning tree, white wings on rooftops – miracles can happen.
