A small community of scientists, unreachable for eight months of the year, looks to the future of the human species, searching for things they don＇t yet understand. They don＇t know. They don＇t know. Things above and below ground.

The arrival of Maria Medri (Barbara Ronchi), a stubborn and foreign genius, in the most isolated base in Antarctica, will undermine the plans of the mission leader Fulvio Cadorna (Silvio Orlando), her mentor.

Fulvio and Maria are similar, they are close, they are accomplices. But as often happens, they all want the same thing, until the day when everyone wants their own.
