Cartography of the Waves

Gledson is a lonely public employee who left his hometown with the illusion of becoming an actor in the big city of Rio de Janeiro. Haunted by memories of the mother he has never known, he begins to write a book about Teresa, a pregnant prostitute who faces death and arrives on a fantastic island. When a friend of his decides to turn the book into a film, reality and fiction begin to merge: while Teresa must decide what to do with the son born on the island and the writer struggles with the challenge of becoming a creator, the direction of the film is also transformed when the director is confronted with the experience of her own motherhood.
