At 77 years old, Mercedes, the manager of the building in the affluent Madrid neighborhood where she resides, has only two companions. The first is Angela, the night guard of the underground parking garage whom she visits every night. The second is a fish. During each encounter, Mercedes pretends to have a life she doesn＇t actually lead. Angela pretends to be interested. Mercedes tells her that she visits because she can＇t sleep, but the truth is she feels a strong attraction to her, forty years younger than her. The weekends without Angela become bitter. Until, once again, Monday night comes around and her hope returns with Angela. When during a meeting the neighbors propose dispensing with Angela＇s services, Mercedes sees her only moments of happiness in danger. She begins to do everything necessary to justify Angela＇s job. Even if it means keeping her against her will.
