Synopsis

This documentary explores the lives of 6 judges in 6 Italian courts, working in different roles and in different phases of their lives, analysing the difficulties, the struggles and the joys of this profession, with the objective of dispelling the age-old prejudices linked to their role and convey a more authentic view of the judicial profession.

COMMENTARY

Dike is the goddess of justice, traditionally represented as a woman with her eyes closed or blindfolded, holding a scale in one hand and a sword in the other. The law is the same for everyone, but it is also stern. Caterina Crescini, assisted by Filippo Cellini, the author responsible for the developing and writing the script of the documentary along with the National Association of Magistrates, explores how it is applied by Italian judges, searching beyond the myths and prejudices.

DIRECTOR＇S STATEMENT

The narrative follows two distinct tracks: a horizontal line characterized by the interventions of two of the most renowned Italian legal scholars, and a vertical axis, consisting in the personal and professional stories of the protagonists.
