You Remember revisits the life of Dodó, the matriarch of ten children, in a small town in the countryside of Brazil, through the perspective of her granddaughter and other women in the family. After Dodó＇s death, Victória discovers a letter written by her, revealing stories previously unknown to her granddaughter. This letter prompts Victória to join her mother, aunt, and cousin to reframe the memories of her grandmother. Together, they try to understand the impact of these experiences on their shared history, exploring the importance of memory, connection, and affection. The film brings to light universal themes such as domestic violence, the relationship between the masculine and feminine, and the emotional scars these experiences leave on women, not only physically, but also emotionally.
