The short film Diario di Roma is not only a small road movie but also a tribute to the iconic filming locations of Rome’s cinematic history.

Rome – the Eternal City, famous for its historic landmarks and tourist attractions, attracts over 15 million visitors every year. But how does it all become a backdrop? And how do the stories behind it all come to life? With these questions in mind, photographer and filmmaker Florian Bachmann drifts through the city. He engages in conversations with a set builder, two archaeologists, a tour guide, and a Swiss Guardsman, while also searching for his own backdrop. Images, thoughts, and encounters form the basis of a fast-paced and humorous walk through the city.
