Why isn't lit a straight line?

"Why isn’t lit a straight line?" is a fractured narrative, an algorithmic spiral, a play between illusions of control and chaos. The work begins from a personal juncture: my exploration of Buddhist philosophy, with the pursuit of Nirvana as its center. But Nirvana here is not a static destination. It is a threshold; Centrifugal Force is not simply physics but metaphor, a symbol of the constant spinning of life and death, desire and liberation, in perpetual counter-rotation.

The video is divided into 8 scenes, each a spatialized abstraction of the Eightfold Path, disassembling and reassembling metaphysical concepts through visual and temporal loops. These scenes move like a carousel, an illusion of forward motion while trapped in cyclical stasis. Blending illusion with reality is intentional. Viewers are invited to enter this recursive loop, where reality is contorted, mirrored, and reconfigured.

Drawing from my practice of Buddhist teachings, every element, space, duration, and character operates as an avatar for the lessons learned in embodied practice. Why isn’t it a straight line? The video doesn’t provide answers, it insists on the impossibility of them. It’s an open invitation to consider the endless transformation, the continuous feedback loops of life, death, and rebirth.
