Flowers In The Blood

We are talking about a tragedy called Manipur.

How a small state in the North East of India went from being a peaceful paradise to a hot bed of Ethnic Violence, became the main hub for manufacturing and consumption of drugs and became a state with the highest percentage of AIDS victims - is indeed a long and tragic story.

The film ＇Flowers in the Blood＇ focuses on the lives of innocent children who are holding on to a single thread of hope. They were born with HIV, lost their parents to drug abuse, were outcasted by their families, and were discriminated against by society. The children＇s situation is made worse by the easy availability of drugs, with most kids in Manipur coming in contact with drugs by the time they are in secondary school.

The documentary shows how their foster parents, despite all challenges, are fighting every day to give equal opportunities to these children and remove the prejudiced notions about HIV-infected children in society. These children need a sense of belongingness to internally find the courage to fight the dispelling darkness that overshadows their thoughts.
