Alan and Maria meet in the hospital and fall in love. The only problem: they are both dying. To make the impending separation less arduous, the two lovers plan long trips in which the survivor will pretend to have his beloved beside them. To make this possible, they combine their assets so that the survivor can travel to London, Paris and New York. To avoid fighting, Alan and Mary present the plan to their closest relatives: Zack and Ted, Mary＇s cousins, Erin and Boris, Alan＇s nephews. All four are in financial straits, so much so that Zack and Ted sublet their apartment to Erin and Boris themselves, who have just been evicted for nonpayment of rent.
