Third Week

Alvin has just come out of prison and is on parole. He starts to work at a tool and die workshop in Staten Island. He lives in a project with his grandmother, who has feeble health. He keeps a low profile, avoiding reconnecting with the crowd who got him in prison in the first place. His mother, who he has not seen for many years, unexpectedly calls asking for help: she needs money to be bailed out of prison. To appease his grandmother’s anxiety, worried for her deteriorating health, Alvin looks for ways to pay his mother’s bail.
