Cinema clerks Silva and Felix work the final night before their beloved cinema is demolished by private investors. An empty final screening allows them to reflect on the meaning of cinema in an age wherein art no longer occupies physical space.

The Last Cinema is a love letter to the extinct picture houses of yesteryear. With a cast and crew of majority trans and non-binary artists, it foregrounds the theme of transition. The moving image (and the body) may change beyond recognition, but it cannot die outright; what lies ahead is a greater, more expansive form than was ever imaginable.
