Le Coyote

After reluctantly shuttering his beloved restaurant, The Coyote, 50-something Mexican-born chef-turned-janitor Camilo finds a job opportunity in a rural area. But his plans for the future are upended when his estranged daughter shows up with her little boy. In her second feature, Katherine Jerkovic takes the qualities that defined Roads in February (FNC 2018) to the next level in a deeply humane look at broken people trying to rebuild their lives. Patient, understated and meticulous in her mise-en-scène, Jerkovic elicits great performances from her actors. As Camilo, Jorge Martinez Colorado is a marvel of sensitivity.
