The Photographer and His Shadow

After spending much of his life photographing the most important moments in his country’s recent history, Armenian artist Gagik Harutyunyan lost his passion for photography. Yet, his images of Armenia gaining independence from the Soviet Union and the war with Azerbaijan have contributed to revitalizing art photography in this communist country.
