Sofá

A former teacher in a poor neighborhood of Rio, whose house was expropriated because of real estate speculation, asks a young fisherman to help her recover her old sofa from the sea. Against the background of a city at war, the two begin to wage war against the authorities to defend their rights. Confronted with the barbarization of contemporary Brazil, Safadi (O Prefeito, O Fim de uma Era) recovers the revolutionary and playful spirit of Cinema Novo and Rogério Sganzerla in a new, potential concept of militant cinema.
