Stroma Cairns (London, 1992) has directed the short films If You Knew (2019), which premiered at the Sheffield DocFest and received the Jury＇s Special Commendation at the BFI London, and Sauna (2020), one of the segments of The Uncertain Kingdom, an anthology of short films by different directors. She has also directed episodes of the miniseries On the Edge (2020) and Mood (2022), winner of the BAFTA for Best Mini-Series in 2023. The Son and the Sea, her first feature, screened in the Discovery section of the Toronto Festival.
