On August 14, 1984, Alex Mathias Retamal Soto was born in Santiago, Chile. In 1989, his family emigrated from Santiago, Chile to Montreal, Canada for a better future, a fresh start. He grew up in a multi-lingual household, speaking Spanish and French. He grew up watching classics such as Scarface, Blood In, Blood Out, Casino and Carlito＇s Way. It was these movies that inspired and shaped him as an actor today, but it was just a matter of time before his life took a dark turn of events, mirroring those in his favorite films.
