Was not an actress. Robert Altman, Elliott Gould and Mark Rydell were working on the scene she appeared in when they decided to have dinner. She was their waitress. They thought she was beautiful and would be great to play the girlfriend in the film and asked her to take the part. She thought they were kidding - especially since they had been at the beach all day and none of them had money on them to pay the bill.
