Damián Nueva is a Cuban bassist and double bassist based in Paris. Born in Havana within a family of musicians, he learned percussion when he was very young.

He discovered bass at the age of 13 alongside the great Israel López "Cachaito" and entered the Alejandro García Caturla school, then continued his musical studies at the National Art School of Cuba.
